AMNS India's Hazira project to be commissioned by 2026

Lakshmi N Mittal, the Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal, expressed strong optimism on Wednesday regarding the timely commissioning of the Hazira project undertaken by AMNS India, a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal. The expansion project, which aims to significantly enhance the steel production capacity, is expected to be operational by the year 2026.

In October of the previous year, AMNS India, a prominent arm of ArcelorMittal, had announced plans to invest a substantial Rs 60,000 crore to augment the capacity of its steel plant located in Hazira, with a target of reaching 15 million tonnes (MT) of steel production.

Mr. Mittal conveyed his confidence during an event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 'Vibrant Gujarat' summit. He underscored the importance of collaboration between the central government and the Gujarat state government in ensuring the successful execution of the project within the stipulated timeline.

The Hazira expansion initiative is making significant progress, marked by rapid development, with more than 20,000 individuals actively engaged in various aspects of the project's construction.

The commitment and progress demonstrated by ArcelorMittal in the Hazira project align with the company's strategic goals and ambitions for expanding its presence and operations in the steel industry.
