Aparna Garg Takes Charge As Member (Finance) Of Railway Board

Ms Aparna Garg, a 1987-batch Indian Railway Accounts Service officer, assumed charge as Member (Finance) of the Railway Board on 1 December 2025. She is one of the senior civil servants in the Government of India, with more than 36 years of service.

Over her career, she has held several significant positions, including Divisional Railway Manager, Mysore; Principal Financial Advisor, Rail Wheel Factory; and Director General, IRIFM. Ms Garg is a Chevening Fellow and holds an Advanced Master’s degree in Transport Economics from the University of Leeds, UK. Her executive education includes programmes at the Bocconi School of Management in Milan, INSEAD Singapore and the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
