APSRTC will launch 350 e-buses out of 750 sanctioned in October, with the remaining vehicles expected to be introduced by the end of the year. The chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wanted e-buses introduced as part of the modernisation of public transport and to reduce environmental pollution. The state government was considering replacing every diesel bus with an e-bus in a phased manner to provide better transport facilities.

The chairman said 750 e-buses had been allotted to Andhra Pradesh under the Prime Minister's e-Bus scheme and that Naidu had requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allot another 300 e-buses to the state. Work on installing electrical substations and charging stations for the e-buses was in progress and the corporation expressed confidence that 350 e-buses would be launched in the first phase by October. Officials indicated the remaining sanctioned vehicles were expected to be introduced by the end of the year, subject to infrastructure readiness.

The report said the introduction of electric buses formed part of a broader strategy to modernise urban and intercity services while reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering emissions. Implementation would require coordination between the transport corporation, the state government and central agencies to ensure timely delivery, charging infrastructure and maintenance arrangements. The corporation was also preparing operational plans to integrate the new buses into existing routes and schedules.

Referring to the Stree Sakthi Scheme, the chairman said it had benefited women by providing free travel and that several persons with disabilities were also availing free bus travel. He said the state government had so far borne a financial burden of Rs 30 billion (30 bn) under the scheme, while giving priority to women's comfort and empowerment. The corporation indicated the scheme would continue to receive support as the transport network expanded.
