Assam Grants $3.2M for Kokrajhar Development
"This significant support reflects the joint efforts of the Assam Government and BTR leadership in enhancing connectivity, accelerating infrastructure development, and improving rural livelihoods," the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government shared on X.
Ahead of the Legislative Assembly’s first-ever session outside Guwahati, in Kokrajhar, Sarma, along with BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, inspected road conditions in the Jarbari-Dighli area.
The chief minister also assessed road connectivity in Sikhna Jwhwlao National Park, Bismuri, Ultapani, Sarlapara, and the Bhutanese village of Sarpang. A 35-kilometer road project linking Bismuri in Kokrajhar with Ultapani, Sarlapara, and Sarpang in Bhutan was a key focus of his visit.
The upcoming projects are expected to boost regional connectivity and strengthen bilateral ties between Assam and Bhutan.
