The Assam Government has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for 20 projects worth Rs 229 billion, advancing proposals from the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment summit held in February 2025. These binding agreements span sectors such as waste management, solar energy, ethanol production, and the Tata Gateway initiative. The investments are expected to generate approximately 6,000 jobs. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted a strategic focus on both large infrastructure and labor-intensive sectors like agriculture and dairy, exemplified by Amul's Rs 750 million investment projected to create 20,000 jobs. Major infrastructure projects, including the Guwahati ring road and the Guwahati-Silchar express highway, are also progressing.
