Officials said at least 12 people were feared trapped after a stone quarry on a hill slope collapsed in Mizoram's Hnahthial district on Monday.

The collapse occurred around 2.40 p.m. in Maudarh village. when ABCI Infrastructure employees were working in the quarry

Lalhriatpuia, Mizoram's Additional Secretary of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, said about 15 people were on the site when the quarry collapsed.

A medical team, according to district officials, was on the scene.
