Atomgrid Opens Bengaluru R&D Centre

Atomgrid has inaugurated a Research & Development centre in the KIADB Industrial Area, Jigani, Bengaluru, to strengthen innovation in specialty chemicals and agrochemicals.

The new facility is focused on patented process development and proprietary formulations for global markets, supporting India’s ambition to emerge as an alternative sourcing hub to China.

The centre currently houses 15 scientists and researchers, with plans to expand to 25 over the next 12 months. Its capabilities cover route scouting, process development and tech transfer for commercial-scale manufacturing.

Atomgrid said the facility will focus on developing high-purity, cost-efficient active ingredients and patented formulations supported by process chemistry and quality systems for regulated and non-regulated markets.

The centre is also expected to accelerate the company’s commercialisation pipeline and support its registration programme across more than 10 countries.

Over the next five years, Atomgrid plans to build an intellectual property portfolio through patents and proprietary processes while positioning the Bengaluru unit as a recognised innovation hub for specialty chemicals.

The launch follows Atomgrid’s USD 7 million Pre-Series A funding round aimed at expanding its global footprint and R&D capabilities.
