Atsign Launches First Invisible Cloud on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Atsign has successfully developed the first "invisible" cloud on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) using its NoPorts technology. Designed with Zero Trust principles, NoPorts is integrated into the atPlatform, providing a high level of security and privacy.

The invisibility of this cloud stems from its use of a non-routable IP address (10.1918), which keeps it entirely inaccessible from the public internet. Additionally, all inbound ports on the virtual machine remain closed, preventing unauthorised access—even from Oracle employees. This unique configuration makes the cloud impervious to external and internal threats, shielding it from potential cyberattacks and unauthorised scans.

Despite being invisible, the cloud remains fully operational. NoPorts facilitates secure communication by embedding security directly into the protocol layer, allowing only authorised users and services to access it. This eliminates exposed attack surfaces while maintaining seamless functionality for organisations without requiring changes to existing workflows.

NoPorts is built upon Atsign’s atPlatform, which enforces a Zero Trust framework. This ensures that only cryptographically authenticated entities can gain access, removing the reliance on traditional perimeter security measures. By implementing this robust trust model, Atsign reinforces its commitment to providing secure and private communication solutions.

This development highlights Atsign’s leadership in cybersecurity and data privacy. By making cloud instances invisible while maintaining full functionality, the company is reshaping how businesses and individuals protect their data. With this innovation, organizations can confidently manage their cloud environments, ensuring both security and control over sensitive information.
