AutoMovers Group Outlines Rs. 5 bn Expansion Plan

AutoMovers Group, a multi-brand automotive retail firm, plans to invest Rs. 5 bn over the next three years to expand and streamline its network across key markets. The company said the investment programme began in the first quarter of the current financial year and is intended to address rising customer demand.

The company has already invested Rs. 2 bn and is preparing the next phase of expansion. The programme will focus on strengthening the sales and service network, increasing vehicle availability and expanding manufacturing capacity, with the initial rollout centred on the Lucknow cluster.

AutoMovers Group will allocate Rs. 1.5 bn to capital expenditure, including new workshops and service centres. A further Rs. 1.5 bn will be used to raise inventory to more than 2,000 vehicles, while the remaining Rs. 2 bn will be divided equally between expanding the Lucknow trailer plant and maintaining reserves for working capital and future growth.

Following the Lucknow expansion, the company plans to extend its presence to Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and the Noida corridor. It is also expanding its insurance operations across Uttar Pradesh, with Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab and Bihar identified as additional markets. AutoMovers Group has set a target of Rs. 2 bn in insurance business in FY 2027-28 and aims to increase this to Rs. 10 bn annually by 2030.

The higher inventory level is intended to support quicker vehicle deliveries, while the new infrastructure is expected to increase service capacity to more than 300 vehicles a day. The Lucknow trailer manufacturing facility will be expanded to increase production capacity by 2.5 times.

The investment will also support expansion of the passenger vehicle business through existing and new original equipment manufacturer partnerships, along with the introduction of new trailer product lines. Over the next three to five years, AutoMovers Group aims to build a wider network across Uttar Pradesh and other key markets while strengthening its retail, service and manufacturing operations.
