Bajel Projects Limited (Bajel) and Al Sharif Contracting and Commercial Development Company (ASC) have signed a joint venture agreement to pursue engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement, announced in Mumbai on 17 February 2026, establishes an equal partnership between the two companies. The collaboration is intended to expand Bajel's international footprint and to leverage ASC's regional market presence.

The joint venture will focus on high voltage and extra high voltage infrastructure, including overhead transmission lines, substation packages and underground cabling projects. The venture will target projects that require complex technical execution and inter-regional transmission corridors. EPC will form the principal scope of operations under the joint venture.

The timing of the partnership coincides with Saudi Arabia's grid modernisation and renewable integration efforts under Vision 2030 and beyond. By combining Bajel's technical strengths in extra high voltage execution with ASC's local experience, the parties aim to position the joint venture as a partner for utility and infrastructure companies across the Kingdom. The companies expect to bid for large-scale transmission and substation programmes as the Saudi market accelerates investment.

The managing director and chief executive of Bajel indicated that the agreement represents a defining moment in the company’s strategy to expand outside India and to participate in complex transmission projects that support the Kingdom's vision. ASC's chief executive said the partnership will pool resources to develop sustainable transmission networks and to connect renewable energy to load centres.

Al Sharif Contracting is part of Al Sharif Group Holdings, a multibillion business group that has operated in the Kingdom and abroad for four decades and that has interests in contracting, manufacturing, hospitality, renewable energy and electric mobility.
