Bharat Forge Limited (BFL) has completed the purchase of AAM India Manufacturing Private Limited in an all cash deal valued at Rs 7.46 billion. First announced on 17 October 2024, the takeover received Competition Commission of India clearance on 22 April 2025 and closed after final regulatory approvals.
AAM India brings a cash reserve of Rs 1.89 billion, which BFL plans to deploy for growth initiatives and technology upgrades. The final equity consideration may be adjusted for net working capital as at 30 June 2025.
The acquisition adds a long standing supplier of powertrain parts and new mobility components— including electric vehicle systems—serving major domestic and global original equipment manufacturers. Bharat Forge said the move will “complement our component range with integrated product solutions for OEMs in India and abroad.”
Strategic push into EV and new mobility
BFL will leverage AAM India’s expertise to accelerate its entry into electric powertrains, lightweight chassis parts and precision structures, reinforcing its credentials as a future ready automotive technology provider.
Positioning with global OEMs
As vehicle makers seek partners capable of scale and innovation, the addition of AAM India strengthens Bharat Forge’s ability to supply both legacy and electric platforms across passenger car, commercial vehicle and emerging mobility segments.
The takeover marks a further step in Bharat Forge’s evolution from component maker to full spectrum solutions provider in the worldwide automotive supply chain.
