C-DOT, NAM InfoCom Partner to Develop Mission-Critical MCX System
Under the C-DOT MCX Alliance, the organisation has partnered with 10 entities—primarily startups—to build a comprehensive MCX ecosystem. The new MCX platform is aligned with 3GPP standards and supports Mission Critical Push-to-Talk, Mission Critical Data, and Mission Critical Video services. It is designed to offer secure, reliable, real-time audio and video communication over existing 4G and 5G networks. The system will support Public Protection and Disaster Relief agencies, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
NAM InfoCom will develop the MC Video solution, ensuring seamless integration with C-DOT’s existing MCX platform. C-DOT will provide telecom R&D expertise, while NAM InfoCom will contribute system integration and deployment capabilities. The project is fully funded through the C-DOT Collaborative Research Programme, which aims to encourage indigenous innovation.
The new MC Video component will offer multi-stream support, recording, and the ability to manage several group or one-to-one video calls with flexible floor control. It is tailored for first responders and critical infrastructure users across disaster management, defence, and public safety operations. The solution is optimised for low latency and efficient bandwidth use across different network conditions and devices.
Dr Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, stated that the partnership aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision by promoting indigenous technology development with startups for secure and reliable communication systems.
Senior officials from both organisations, including Ms Shikha Srivastava of C-DOT and Mr D. Arunan of NAM InfoCom, attended the signing ceremony.
