Carrier Global Corporation has announced a $100 million investment to establish a new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, strengthening its India manufacturing footprint and supporting rising domestic and global demand for cooling solutions. The facility will cater to high-growth sectors such as data centers, commercial real estate and critical infrastructure.

The announcement was made during the India visit of David Gitlin, who also broke ground for the new plant. The investment marks a significant expansion of Carrier’s nearly four-decade manufacturing presence in India and aligns with the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

“India is one of our most important growth markets and an integral part of our operations,” said Gitlin. He added that increasing demand for energy-efficient cooling, particularly in data centers and critical infrastructure, is driving the company to strengthen its manufacturing, engineering and digital capabilities in the country.

Carrier said the Sri City facility will help advance localization across manufacturing and supply chains while supporting connected and digitally enabled climate and energy solutions. The company already operates engineering and innovation hubs in Hyderabad and Gurugram, which support manufacturing, services and digital capabilities across global markets.

Michael Gierges said the investment reflects Carrier’s commitment to leveraging growth opportunities emerging from AI, infrastructure development and urbanization. He added that the expansion would strengthen Carrier’s innovation and manufacturing capabilities across the broader Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region while contributing to a more sustainable future.
