CG DE SUB, LLC (“CG USA”), a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, has entered into an agreement with Flanders Electric Motors Service, LLC (Flanders), a global leader in electrical rotating equipment and technology solutions, to strengthen its presence in the United States railway sector. The collaboration will focus on providing competitive, high-quality traction motor replacement and refurbishment solutions with faster turnaround times for US rail operators.
The US railway network spans nearly 140,000 miles—three times the size of Indian Railways—creating significant demand for reliable traction motor services, particularly from Class I railroads. Through this partnership, CG USA aims to accelerate expansion in the market by leveraging Flanders’ local service capabilities, rapid throughput, and proven reliability. Together, the companies will combine Flanders’ customer-centric service footprint with CG’s eight decades of expertise in railway systems.
CG’s Global CEO and Managing Director, Amar Kaul, stated that the collaboration enhances CG’s ability to deliver cost-effective, timely solutions for US rail operators, while redefining service standards. Kim Weninger, CEO of Flanders, added that the partnership is a natural extension of Flanders’ legacy in heavy industry and will expand its motors business into the rail sector.
Headquartered in Mumbai, CG Power and Industrial Solutions is a leading engineering conglomerate with businesses spanning industrial systems, power systems, consumer appliances, and semiconductors. In FY25, the company reported consolidated revenue of Rs 99.1 billion (USD 1.15 billion).
This partnership with Flanders marks a strategic milestone for CG, reinforcing its global leadership in railway solutions while tapping into new opportunities in the North American market.
