CGCA Eastern Region Review Meeting Concludes at NCA-F New Delhi
Senior officers, including principal controllers of communication accounts and controllers of communication accounts, from the Eastern Region attended the meeting. The Eastern Region comprises the field units of Kolkata, Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand, North East?I, West Bengal and North East?II and the sessions reviewed circle level progress. Participants presented circle level achievements, implementation status and the challenges faced in administration and service delivery.
Detailed discussions covered administration, pension administration, internal audit, revenue management and Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) related activities. Field units outlined their work on revenue assessment, prevention of leakages, pension service delivery and measures to strengthen internal audit mechanisms. An interactive session with representatives from DBN Headquarters addressed operational and implementation issues and guidance was provided for uniform execution.
It was noted that the Eastern Region collectively deals with around 350 telecom licensees and authorisations, manages annual revenue collection of Rs 40 billion (bn) and provides pension services to more than 60,000 pensioners through the SAMPANN platform, underscoring the scale of operations. The meeting emphasised replication of best practices across circles, timely resolution of audit observations and strengthened revenue monitoring. Attention was drawn to improving service delivery to pensioners and stakeholders and to continued coordination between headquarters and field units to achieve these objectives.
