CGCA Western Zone Review Meet Concludes In Goa
The conference was presided over virtually by Vandana Gupta, Controller General of Communication Accounts, while the in-person sessions were chaired by Sanjay Kumar Bariar, Principal Controller of Communication Accounts (Pr. CCA), Western Zone.
Across the two days, officials held detailed discussions on core domains including revenue administration, pensions, the Digital Bharat Nidhi and internal audits of the Directorate of Telecom’s field units. A comprehensive review of the functioning of all CCA offices in the Western Zone was undertaken.
It was noted that CCA offices in the region collectively serve more than 1 million pensioners and disburse around Rs 50 billion annually. They also collect close to Rs 60 billion in revenues from licence fees and spectrum usage charges, making a significant contribution to the Government of India’s non-tax revenue.
Sunita Chandra, Director General, Telecom, addressed the conference virtually, expressing appreciation for the CGCA and CCA offices for their crucial support to field formations. She stressed the need for continued cooperation to further enhance service delivery.
In her concluding remarks, CGCA Vandana Gupta commended the strong performance of CCA offices, particularly in timely pension disbursement, grievance resolution and efficient revenue collection. She and her team offered recommendations aimed at strengthening accountability, transparency and overall operational effectiveness across the Western Zone.
Pr. CCA Sanjay Kumar Bariar thanked the CGCA team for their insightful inputs and acknowledged the constructive deliberations held during the sessions.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Satish Chandra Jha, Controller of Communication Accounts for Maharashtra and Goa, who recognised the guidance of Vandana Gupta and the leadership of Sanjay Kumar Bariar. He thanked all delegates for their active participation and valuable contributions.
