CM Inaugurates Rs 1.2 Billion Projects at Piplu Fair
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 1.2 billion in Himachal Pradesh’s Bangana sub-division during the closing ceremony of the three-day Piplu Fair. Speaking at Bhalethi, the Chief Minister highlighted the social and cultural value of traditional fairs, calling them vital for community bonding and heritage preservation.
Earlier in the day, CM Sukhu interacted with the public, heard grievances, and participated in the traditional Shobha Yatra. He extended greetings to the residents of Bangana and applauded the organisers for keeping cultural traditions alive.
Addressing the crowd, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his government's focus on promoting natural farming. He urged local farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices and help make Himachal Pradesh a model state in sustainable agriculture. He also praised local MLA Vivek Sharma for his commitment to regional development.
Among the major completed works were the Rs 21.2 million Executive Engineer Divisional Office at Thanakalan, Rs 6.2 million Water Quality and Monitoring Training Centre at Barnoh, Rs 24.4 million building for the Government Senior Secondary School in Jathehri, and Rs 14.5 million Primary Health Centre at Chamyari.
CM Sukhu also inaugurated Rs 103.1 million worth of roadwork on the Olinda–Bohru link road, Rs 122.2 million for roads to Handola and Lubowal, and Rs 107.3 million for a Rural Livelihood Centre in Bangana. He laid foundation stones for Rs 23.5 million worth of upgrades to local water schemes and Rs 105.9 million for a new irrigation scheme in Moh Minar. Additional investments included Rs 18.3 million for tubewells, Rs 72 million for rainwater harvesting, Rs 67.2 million for a State Taxes residential complex in Una, Rs 59.8 million for road projects connecting various villages, and Rs 104.4 million for bridge construction under NABARD.
The event was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, MLA Vivek Sharma, Advocate General Anup Kumar Rattan, and other senior officials.
