Cortec Launches Permanent ESD Stretch Film for Electronics

Cortec recently introduced EcoSonic® VpCI®-125 HP Permanent ESD Stretch Film, addressing long-standing limitations of conventional ‘pink poly’ packaging used for electrostatic discharge protection. Unlike traditional films that lose effectiveness over time, the new solution provides permanent static dissipation throughout the product’s service life, even after stretching.

The film meets MIL-STD 3010 requirements and is designed to close a key quality assurance gap in palletised electronics packaging. Its dual-action protection combines permanent ESD properties with Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCI®), safeguarding sensitive components from both static shock and corrosion in a single step.

Beyond electronics, the stretch film offers safety benefits for sectors such as munitions and fertilisers, where friction-induced static during wrapping poses serious risks. Compatible with standard wrapping equipment, the translucent film also allows easy visual inspection of goods without breaking the seal, supporting operational efficiency and safer handling across industries.
