Covestro India Secures AEO Tier 2 Certification

Covestro (India) Private Limited has received Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Tier 2 certification from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), recognising its customs compliance and supply-chain security practices.

The AEO T2 certification provides Covestro India with several operational benefits, including priority customs processing, Direct Port Delivery and Direct Port Entry for eligible consignments, reduced bank guarantee requirements and an extended duty deferral period of up to 30 days.

These measures are expected to improve the speed and predictability of the company’s cross-border supply chain while reducing disruptions for customers, particularly manufacturers operating lean or just-in-time production systems.

Anand Srinivasan, Managing Director, Covestro (India) and Head of Polycarbonate – ISC, said the certification would strengthen the company’s ability to support customers as manufacturing and supply-chain standards continue to advance in India.

The AEO programme, administered under CBIC, recognises businesses that maintain established standards of customs compliance and supply-chain security. Its three-tier framework — T1, T2 and T3 — provides progressively higher levels of trade facilitation, with Tier 2 awarded to organisations demonstrating mature and verifiable compliance systems.
