CSM Technologies Limited (CSM Tech) has secured a World Bank-backed contract in Malawi valued at Rs 32 million (mn) to develop a digital auction platform for public procurement. The assignment forms part of Malawi's six-year Digital Market Access Programme under the World Bank-supported Inclusive Digitalisation in Eastern and Southern Africa programme. The initiative seeks to accelerate digital connectivity and facilitate transparent procurement of broadband services.

The project will benefit more than seven point five mn broadband users and support the digital connectivity of 2,500 public institutions, including 2,000 schools and 500 government offices. It targets five mn successful digital authentications for service delivery and aims to reduce retail data prices as a percentage of gross national income per capita from nine point four per cent to four per cent.

CSM Tech will undertake the full project lifecycle, beginning with an assessment of business requirements and the development of platform architecture. The scope covers platform development, system integration, cybersecurity hardening, penetration testing, pilot implementation and production rollout. The company will provide user training, knowledge transfer and post-deployment warranty support.

The company described the engagement as reflecting growing global confidence in India's digital public infrastructure capabilities and said the partnership with the Government of Malawi and the World Bank will build a technology-driven auctioning ecosystem to strengthen governance and accelerate digital inclusion. It added that trusted digital platforms support more accountable institutions and inclusive economies.

CSM Tech has delivered projects across India, Africa, the Middle East and North America and said the Malawi assignment expands its portfolio of platforms for public administration, mining, agriculture, healthcare, citizen services, commerce, taxation, public finance and infrastructure governance. The company operates across 20 cities in 14 countries and specialises in digital public infrastructure, e-governance, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity and geographic information systems.
