Infosys Limited (Infosys) has completed a major data modernisation programme for CSX Corporation (CSX) in collaboration with Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft). The implementation used Infosys Topaz, Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Purview to consolidate a fragmented data landscape into a unified cloud-native platform. The modernisation replaced legacy systems with a single governed data environment designed to improve decision-making, accelerate reporting and reduce operational costs. The programme is reported to be among the largest such deployments within the transport and logistics sector.

Automated metadata governance was implemented across 28 domains and more than 170 data products were created to support AI accelerators, self-serve analytics and Azure monitoring. The platform consolidated over 50,000 legacy reports into 1,200 actionable insights, delivering automation that saved thousands of hours of manual effort. The transformation established a foundation for predictive maintenance, logistics optimisation and enterprise-wide operational intelligence.

Infosys led the end-to-end effort with joint design and architecture planning alongside Microsoft and CSX, including early access to Microsoft Fabric features. The collaboration accelerated time-to-insight and enabled real-time analytics across critical business domains, producing significant annual infrastructure savings. The programme is presented as a scalable model for other transport and logistics organisations seeking to become AI-ready. The delivery included comprehensive migration, governance frameworks and operational handover to ensure sustainable adoption across the enterprise.
