DAC Clears Rs 790 Bn Defence Procurement Proposals
For the Indian Army, approvals include procurement of Loiter Munition Systems for precision strikes, Low Level Light Weight Radars to detect low-flying unmanned systems, Long Range Guided Rocket Ammunition for the Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket System, and the Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System Mk-II. These systems will enhance battlefield surveillance, range, accuracy and protection of vital assets across tactical and hinterland areas.
The Indian Navy received AoN for procurement of Bollard Pull Tugs, High Frequency Software Defined Radio manpacks and leasing of High Altitude Long Range Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems. These acquisitions will support harbour operations, strengthen secure communications and provide persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance across the Indian Ocean Region.
For the Indian Air Force, AoN was granted for systems including the Automatic Take-off Landing Recording System, Astra Mk-II air-to-air missiles, Full Mission Simulator for the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas and SPICE-1000 long-range guidance kits. These inductions will enhance flight safety, pilot training and long-range precision strike capability.
The approvals underline the government’s continued focus on strengthening combat readiness, surveillance and precision engagement across all three services.
