The joint venture will leverage India’s position as a rapidly expanding manufacturing and consumption hub to improve supply chain resilience and broaden access to cutting edge material technologies. Management stated the partnership will strengthen product performance standards and support scale in specialty polymer segments.
PolyTek will emphasise operational excellence, sustainability and alignment with global environmental standards while integrating global innovation with local execution. The venture will aim to deepen customer engagement across domestic and export markets by providing technically advanced formulations and enhanced service capabilities. The partners indicated that combining local manufacturing foundations with deep market insight will accelerate growth and market penetration.
Shriram Polytech is a subsidiary of DCM Shriram and is described as a leading plastics compounding company in India specialising in vinyl compounds and specialty polymer solutions with a focus on quality and customer centricity. Teknor Apex, founded in 1924 and headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, operates globally in the United States, Europe and Asia with a broad portfolio that includes thermoplastic elastomers and engineering thermoplastics. Teknor Apex B.V., the Dutch subsidiary based in Geleen with operations in Genk, supports sectors including automotive, medical and industrial applications. The joint venture will operate as PolyTek to serve evolving technical requirements of Indian and global customers.
