The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) organised the 14th edition of the FICCI Chemicals and Petrochemicals Awards 2025 in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on January 22, 2026, at Federation House, New Delhi. The event brought together senior government officials, industry leaders and key stakeholders from across the chemicals and petrochemicals sector.

The awards ceremony was graced by Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, while Nivedita Shukla Verma, Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, attended as the Guest of Honour. A total of 52 awardees were felicitated across multiple categories, recognising excellence, innovation, sustainability and safety across the sector’s value chain.

Addressing the gathering, Anupriya Patel highlighted the strategic importance of the chemicals and petrochemicals sector as a backbone of India’s manufacturing ecosystem, supporting industries such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, infrastructure, mobility and clean energy. She emphasised the government’s focus on next-generation reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business, enhancing global competitiveness and building a trust-based regulatory framework. The Minister outlined key policy initiatives, including GST rationalisation, reduction in compliance burdens through regulatory reforms, and energy and labour sector reforms, aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

In her address, Nivedita Shukla Verma underscored DCPC’s sustained efforts to create a robust and future-ready ecosystem for the sector. She stressed the importance of close collaboration between industry and government to strengthen domestic manufacturing, promote research and development, enhance safety standards, and advance sustainability and circular economy practices. The Secretary reiterated the Department’s commitment to policy support, infrastructure development and investment facilitation to position India as a global hub for chemicals and petrochemicals.

The awards showcased best practices and achievements across manufacturing excellence, innovation, energy efficiency, safety and circular economy initiatives, reflecting the sector’s growing role in India’s industrial and sustainable development journey.
