The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) held its second and third stakeholder consultations on Thursday on implementing the Master Plan for Delhi (MPD) 2047. The meetings brought together government agencies, civic bodies and heritage conservation organisations to discuss coordination and the practical implementation of the plan.

The consultations were conducted in line with directions from Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu. The DDA said its focus was on ensuring that MPD 2047 provisions are translated into tangible benefits for residents across the capital. The discussions were intended to bring agencies involved in planning, infrastructure, transport, public services and conservation onto a common platform.

The second consultation included representatives from major government departments and service-providing agencies. Participants included the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council, Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Delhi Transport Corporation, National Highways Authority of India, National Capital Region Transport Corporation, Delhi Police and Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board.

Representatives from Delhi government departments such as the Public Works Department, Power, Land and Building, Fire, Irrigation and Flood Control, and Forest also attended. Indraprastha Gas, National Buildings Construction Corporation, Central Public Works Department and the Institute of Town Planners, India, were among the other organisations represented.

The third consultation focused on heritage conservation. It included representatives from the Archaeological Survey of India, Delhi Tourism, the School of Planning and Architecture, the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, the Department of Archaeology, Indraprastha Virasat Punarvikas Nigam, Delhi Urban Arts Commission, Delhi Fire Service and the Ministry of Culture. The consultations formed part of the DDA’s broader engagement with agencies responsible for implementing different aspects of MPD 2047.
