Hyderabad-based DEC Infrastructure and Projects has secured a major government contract for conservation and retrofitting work at New Delhi’s historic North Block..

DEC Infrastructure and Projects has been awarded a Rs 3.17 billion contract by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for Phase-I of the comprehensive conservation and retrofitting of North Block in New Delhi. The project also includes the construction of a service building and will be completed in 24 months.

North Block houses key offices, including the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the project was recently issued by the CPWD.

In a separate development, DEC has also secured another contract valued at Rs 2.95 billion for interior finishing, furniture, furnishing, and electrical and mechanical works at the General Pool Office Accommodation (GPOA) in Netaji Nagar, part of the Central Vista redevelopment in New Delhi. This project is expected to be completed within one year.

Ravinder Gupta, Whole-Time Director, added that the company is currently engaged in multiple projects worth over Rs 100 billion across India. These include the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Alwal, Government Medical Colleges in Ramagundam and Mancherial, a prisons complex in Siddipet, the Egmore Railway Station near Chennai, and the Central Cabinet Minister Chambers in New Delhi. New projects include the Telangana High Court and the New Delhi Railway Station redevelopment.
