The Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the Mega Capacity Building Programme at Anuvrat Bhawan under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance scheme, aiming to train more than 30,000 micro, small and medium enterprises by January 2027. The initiative seeks to integrate modern skills training with market linkages and technology adoption. The event outlined implementation milestones for the city.

Gupta said the programme aligns with the four?P reform framework of policy, process, performance and partnership and that collaboration between government and entrepreneurs could revitalise Delhi's economy. The scheme, backed by the central government, has an approved fund of Rs 497.4 mn and will connect over 10,000 businesses to the Government e?Marketplace and the Open Network for Digital Commerce.

The chief minister underlined that digital adoption is essential and reiterated support across finance, training, technology and markets for MSMEs, which she called the backbone of the local economy. She noted that Delhi hosts more than 0.248 mn startups and 125 unicorns and said the Delhi Credit Guarantee Scheme offers collateral?free loans of up to Rs 100 mn with a credit guarantee of up to 95 per cent. Since February first, 2026 the scheme has approved 10,505 guarantees worth Rs 48.06 bn in the current financial year.

The programme featured technical presentations on RAMP and the guarantee scheme, capacity?building sessions and distribution of sanction letters, with discussions on market expansion and technological advancement to raise competitiveness. Officials emphasised linking small units with larger value chains and improving access to procurement.

Industries minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa highlighted infrastructure projects worth Rs 12 bn, including Rs 5 bn in issued tenders and Rs 7 bn in planned works aimed at revitalising around 12,000 industrial units, and outlined plans for a policy to grant freehold rights to industrial properties. He said the government is developing an AI?enabled single?window MSME portal, promoting special support for women entrepreneurs and planning modern exhibition centres and upgraded effluent treatment standards to promote water reuse and protect the Yamuna.
