Delhi MSME Conclave Highlights Support for Local Enterprises

The Delhi MSME Conclave, organised by the Northern India Regional Council of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India under the Vocal for Local theme, was held on 26 September 2026 at the Scope Complex Auditorium in New Delhi. The event brought together government officials, industry representatives, finance and taxation professionals, entrepreneurs and Cost and Management Accountants.

Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME, attended as chief guest, while R. K. Bharti, Director, Ministry of MSME, was the guest of honour. Epao highlighted the need for collective action to strengthen the MSME ecosystem and said industry associations and professional bodies such as ICMAI had an important role in supporting enterprises.

The discussions also focused on the government’s efforts to formalise informal MSMEs through the digital Udyam Registration platform. The initiative enables enterprises to access government schemes and support mechanisms, while the Ministry of MSME’s outreach programmes seek to improve awareness across manufacturing, services and trade businesses.

The conclave featured an inaugural session, a panel discussion and two technical sessions covering cost optimisation, government support, financial resources, statutory compliance, technology adoption, business expansion and restructuring. Speakers included representatives from Balmer Lawrie, NITI Aayog, the National Small Industries Corporation, NBCC India, the Ministry of MSME and professional advisory organisations.

The event was conducted under the leadership of Manish Kandpal, Chairman of the Northern India Regional Council, with support from Jeewan Chandra, Honey Singh and Rakesh Yadav. Organisers said the programme was designed to connect MSMEs from different regions, identify their challenges and improve capabilities through cost management, financial planning, technology adoption, compliance and capacity building. The conclave concluded with a commitment to promote local entrepreneurship and strengthen the contribution of MSMEs to the Indian economy.
