DoLR trains officials for national NAKSHA rollout
The event will open with inaugural remarks by Dr Bagadi Gautham, Director of BNYCRS, followed by a keynote address from Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary, DoLR.
Shri Kunal Satyarthi, Joint Secretary, DoLR, will present an overview of the NAKSHA programme. Technical sessions on workflow and data acquisition will be led by Shri S K Sinha, Additional Surveyor General of India, while the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) will demonstrate the NAKSHA Web-GIS portal.
A major focus of the workshop will be on sharing state-level experiences. Senior officials from Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Assam, and Madhya Pradesh will outline their implementation strategies and best practices.
Sessions on the administrative and legal frameworks will be conducted by Shri N K Sudhanshu, Director General of YASHADA, and Shri S Chockalingam, CEO of Maharashtra. The programme will conclude with a ground-truthing demonstration by the Survey of India.
The workshop seeks to equip District Magistrates with practical knowledge and operational skills for NAKSHA’s rollout. Highlights include detailed training on GIS and modern survey techniques, insights into data acquisition and ground-truthing, and discussions on legal and administrative implementation frameworks.
