DPIIT Shifts IEM Services To National Single Window System

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has completed the migration of Industrial Entrepreneur Memorandum (IEM) services from the existing G2B portal to the National Single Window System (NSWS).
The move marks a key reform under the Government of India’s Ease of Doing Business agenda, offering entrepreneurs and investors a seamless digital platform for business approvals and filings.
All IEM-related services—including Part-A acknowledgements, Part-B filings, and amendments—are now available only through NSWS. The platform provides single-point access to multiple approvals and registrations, auto-population of data from government databases to reduce duplication, real-time tracking for transparency, and an integrated payment gateway for convenient fee submission.
Applicants must register afresh on NSWS, as old G2B credentials will no longer be valid. For Part-A filings, users must submit details such as sector, NIC code, investment, capacity, employment and GST information. An e-signed acknowledgement will then be generated for download. Part-B filings, required after production commences, must also be submitted through NSWS. Amendments to Part-A can similarly be made online with the applicable fees.
Technical assistance is available via the NSWS helpdesk and DPIIT support lines.
The migration represents a major milestone in digital governance, consolidating IEM services onto a single-window platform. It is expected to further improve ease of doing business and enhance India’s attractiveness as a global investment destination.
