DST Frees 1,15,000 Sq Ft Office Space Under Special Campaign 5.0

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has recorded major progress under the Government’s Special Campaign 5.0, focusing on Swachhata and reducing pendency. During the mid-campaign phase from 2–17 October 2025, DST and its autonomous institutes conducted 433 cleanliness drives—exceeding the target of 318 sites—and freed up 1,15,582 sq. ft. of office space.

The campaign also achieved significant file management outcomes, reviewing 12,160 physical and 1,132 e-files, leading to the weeding of 5,133 physical and closure of 740 electronic files. Of 90 targeted public grievances, 63 have been resolved, along with four grievance appeals and three VIP references.

Social media advocacy has been a key part of the effort, with #SpecialCampaign5.0 gaining traction across platforms such as Facebook, X, and Instagram. The initiative, led by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, underscores DST’s continued commitment to administrative efficiency and workplace cleanliness.
