Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Limited, recently conducted health check-up camps for truck drivers across over 20 key locations as part of its Eicher Highway Superheroes Program.

Organised in collaboration with Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), the initiative reached more than 900 drivers across Andhra Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. The camps offered general health check-ups, eye screenings, and road safety training sessions.

Eicher Trucks and Buses' driver wellbeing programme is designed to support drivers, offering a win-win for operators as drivers are a critical link for road safety, operational efficiency, and long-term truck and bus uptime. Aligned with Eicher’s broader vision of modernising trucking in India, the initiative underscores the brand’s commitment to building a healthier, safer, and more sustainable transportation ecosystem through community-focused interventions.

Launched in 2016, the Eicher Highway Superheroes Program aims to make advanced, affordable eye screening services accessible to truck drivers, ensuring their health and improving road safety. Currently, Eicher operates through 13 EMV (Eicher Eye and Ear Screening Mobile Vans) along with a fixed centre in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Delhi. The company has also onboarded 10 hospital partners, collaborated with 2,500 transporters, and partnered with Government Transport Departments across 11 states to ensure the wellbeing of the drivers’ community. Since its inception, the programme has benefited over 270,000 drivers from all states across India.
