Eicher Trucks and Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), has achieved a significant milestone after its Eicher Pro X EV became the first and fastest electric commercial vehicle to complete the Kashmir–Kanyakumari journey under fully loaded conditions.
The record-setting expedition, recognised by the India Book of Records, covered over 4,000 km in six days, starting from Srinagar on 20 January 2026 and concluding in Kanyakumari on 26 January 2026. The route traversed diverse terrains and climatic zones, including the Himalayas, northern plains, Deccan Plateau and coastal stretches.
Throughout the journey, the Eicher Pro X EV relied entirely on public charging infrastructure accessed via the MyEicher App. An official adjudicator from the India Book of Records accompanied the vehicle for the entire duration, validating loading conditions, route compliance, distance covered, charging halts and overall journey time.
Aligned with the Government of India’s Net Zero ambitions, the run served as a real-world demonstration of the readiness of electric commercial vehicles for long-haul and multi-terrain operations. The expedition also highlighted the growing maturity of India’s EV charging ecosystem across highways and urban clusters.
The Kashmir–Kanyakumari run reinforced confidence in electric mobility by showcasing predictable operating economics, stable performance and minimal maintenance under real freight conditions. With this achievement, Eicher aims to strengthen trust among fleet operators and logistics players, positioning the Pro X EV as a viable solution for middle- and last-mile as well as extended-haul logistics applications.
