EMS has emerged as the lowest bidder for a major sewerage contract awarded by the Directorate of Local Bodies, Government of Rajasthan. The contract is valued at Rs 2,186.5 million (mn) including GST and covers sewerage and septage management works across six urban local bodies in the districts of Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu. The award follows a competitive tender process in which EMS was designated L-1. The project adds to the company's civil infrastructure portfolio in the state.

The scope of work encompasses sewerage systems with Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), along with laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of sewerage networks. The company will undertake construction of treatment units, conveyance pipelines and associated pumping arrangements as part of the delivery obligation. The contract includes a one-year defect liability period and 10 years of Operations and Maintenance (O&M), with an execution period of 18 months. The inclusion of an extended O&M phase allocates operational responsibility to the contractor beyond construction.

As of June 30, 2026, EMS's order book stood at Rs 23,289.1 million (mn), reflecting a substantial pipeline of projects to be executed over coming months. The latest award is likely to be integrated into the existing schedule of deliverables and monitored under the company’s project management framework. Financial provisioning and mobilisation plans will determine the sequencing of works across the six urban local bodies. The contract value and timelines will influence cash flow and resource deployment.

The contract will require coordination with municipal authorities and local stakeholders to complete site clearance, utility relocations and community engagement prior to heavy civil works.
