The project, awarded under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 programme, is scheduled for completion within 24 months.

The scope includes laying new sewer lines in areas of Jodhpur city that are not currently covered by the network. EMS will also redesign and rejuvenate old and damaged sewer lines as part of the project. The contract includes a 1-year defect liability period and 10 years of operations and maintenance.

The order value, including goods and services tax but excluding operations and maintenance, is Rs. 1.3 bn. The company’s regulatory filing identified the estimated value as Rs. 1.3 bn. EMS said the contract does not constitute a related-party transaction and that neither its promoter group nor its group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.

The project is the latest order secured by EMS in the water and wastewater infrastructure segment. The company specialises in water and wastewater collection, treatment and related solutions, and is headquartered in New Delhi. Its operations cover engineering and construction activities across municipal and utility projects.

EMS shares ended at Rs. 320.80 on the stock exchanges, down 2.5 per cent from the previous close. The stock had declined by more than 15 per cent over the preceding month and more than 25 per cent on a year-to-date basis, while it had gained more than 4 per cent over the previous six months. The company did not disclose the value of the long-term operations and maintenance component separately.
