FlixBus to Add 120 Buses Across Southern Network in Q3-Q4

FlixBus India will add 120 buses across its southern network during the third and fourth quarters of 2026 as it expands connectivity across the region. More than half of the company’s India network is now concentrated in South India, following two years of operations in the market.

The expansion will introduce services to Guntur, Coonoor and Ooty. FlixBus has also launched a Hyderabad-Pondicherry connection using Volvo sleeper buses, with the route extending access to Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu.

The company’s network from Hyderabad grew 159 per cent year-on-year in September 2026 compared with the same month last year. Bengaluru recorded 260 per cent growth during the period, while Chennai reported 100 per cent growth.

FlixBus entered South India in September 2024 with services linking Bengaluru with Chennai and Hyderabad. Since then, it has expanded across urban, regional and leisure destinations, with the next phase focused on Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Guntur will strengthen the company’s regional presence in Andhra Pradesh, while Coonoor and Ooty will expand its coverage of leisure and hill destinations. FlixBus operates an asset-light model under which local bus operators run services, while the company manages network planning, pricing, digital customer experience and marketing.

FlixBus entered India in February 2024 and now covers more than 330 cities and 1,400-plus stops, according to the company. It plans to continue expanding through partnerships with regional bus operators as it enters its third year of operations in South India.
