Gabriel India, part of the US$2.6 bn Anand Group, has formed a joint venture with France-based Forvia to bring advanced seating systems and technologies to the Indian automotive market. The partnership expands Gabriel India’s participation in vehicle systems as automotive architectures become more sophisticated and customer requirements evolve.

The joint venture, named Faurecia Anand Seating India, combines Forvia’s global seating technology expertise with Gabriel India’s manufacturing capabilities, customer relationships and understanding of the Indian automotive market. Forvia will hold 50 per cent plus 1 share in the venture, while Gabriel India will own 50 per cent less 1 share.

The partnership is intended to strengthen Gabriel India’s capabilities as a diversified automotive technology company and improve its ability to serve original equipment manufacturers. It will focus on technologically advanced seating solutions offering enhanced comfort and safety features, supporting the development of connected, safe and intelligent vehicles.

Gabriel India said the venture forms part of its broader strategy of building technology-led capabilities through partnerships that combine international expertise with local market knowledge. The company has also partnered with HL Klemove in automotive electronics and advanced driver assistance systems, as it expands into automotive technology segments with long-term growth potential.

Jaisal Singh, vice chairman of Anand Group and head of its mergers and acquisitions activities, said the partnership would strengthen Gabriel India’s portfolio with a globally established capability and support its transformation into a broader mobility solutions enterprise. Anjali Singh, executive chairperson of Anand Group and Gabriel India, said the venture builds on the groups’ longstanding relationship and combines Forvia’s international expertise with Gabriel India’s market presence.

The joint venture also reinforces Anand Group’s position as a partner for global automotive companies seeking access to India’s vehicle market. Its operations are expected to provide vehicle manufacturers with seating systems aligned with changing requirements for safety, comfort, integration and intelligent mobility.
