Gentari, Shell Team Up to Expand EV Charging Network
Clean energy company Gentari has partnered with Shell India to enhance the accessibility and reliability of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India. Effective 10 July, the integration allows users of the Gentari Go app and Shell Recharge to access a combined network of over 450 EV charging points nationwide.
Through this strategic partnership, Shell Recharge points are now available on the Gentari Go platform, while Gentari’s chargers can be accessed by Shell Recharge users. This roaming capability aims to offer seamless interoperability, improving convenience and service consistency for EV users.
Gentari Go currently provides access to more than 5,000 chargers across India, Malaysia, and Thailand, including over 3,000 points in India alone. With the addition of Shell’s premium fuel station-based chargers in key cities in western and southern India, users will benefit from improved network density and strategic urban coverage.
Nikhil Thomas, CEO of Gentari Green Mobility India, noted that the collaboration would “strengthen our commitment to building efficient, user-centric infrastructure supporting India’s shift toward low-carbon mobility.”
Shell’s Sanjay Varkey added that the move ensures interoperability, giving EV users confidence in adopting clean mobility while enjoying the amenities offered at Shell fuel stations—such as food, beverages, and convenience stores.
This alliance aligns with India’s broader goals of accelerating EV adoption and creating sustainable, user-friendly mobility solutions, bolstered by technology-led infrastructure and cross-platform accessibility.
