The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has appointed Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) as the project management consultant for the proposed bus depot in Sector 103. The facility, spread across 7.18 acres of land acquired from the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), will accommodate up to 150 buses.
According to GMDA, the depot will primarily serve the developing sectors along the Dwarka Expressway while enhancing connectivity with Old Gurugram and adjoining areas in Delhi.
“The development of the Sector 103 bus depot is part of GMDA’s continued efforts to provide sustainable and reliable public transport to the people. By expanding the bus network and upgrading infrastructure, we aim to reduce dependency on private vehicles and promote eco-friendly modes of travel across Gurugram,” said R D Singhal, Chief General Manager, Mobility Division, GMDA.
GMDA currently operates bus depots in Sectors 10 and 52 with a combined capacity of 200 buses, while construction of an e-bus depot in Sector 48 is underway. The city is also set to add 200 additional buses by the end of this year.
Passenger facilities are being expanded with 154 new bus queue shelters in New Gurugram—80 along the Southern to Northern Peripheral Road (sectors 68–95) and 74 along the Upper Dwarka Expressway (sectors 99–115).
The Sector 103 bus depot, located near the upcoming Sheetla Mata Medical College and Hospital, is expected to become a key hub addressing the growing mobility requirements of Gurugram’s rapidly developing corridor.
