In a landmark move towards inclusive governance and tribal empowerment, the Government of India has launched the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, a large-scale nationwide benefit saturation campaign. The initiative aims to ensure that critical government schemes and entitlements reach every eligible tribal household across the country.

Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, hailed the Abhiyan as a historic stride towards realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Antyodaya vision — empowering the last person in the queue. He emphasised that this campaign is not just about delivering schemes, but about restoring dignity, self-respect, and a participatory role in the development of a Viksit Bharat for India’s tribal communities.

Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durga Das Uikey, noted the campaign’s unprecedented scale, structure, and community-led approach. The Abhiyan covers 549 tribal-dominated districts and 207 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG)-dominated districts, spanning over 100,000 villages and habitations nationwide. It is being rolled out between 15 and 30 June, marking a major milestone under the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh celebrations.

This initiative is guided by the principles of last-mile delivery and Janbhagidari (people’s participation), aligning with other key tribal welfare schemes like PM-JANMAN and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA). Through the district administrations, the campaign engages grassroots-level stakeholders, including Panchayati Raj Institutions, tribal leaders, and local functionaries, ensuring a participatory and decentralised model.

The Abhiyan involves doorstep delivery of essential government services through benefit saturation camps. These camps provide access to key entitlements such as Aadhaar card enrolment and updates, Ayushman Bharat health cards, Jan Dhan bank account openings, PM-Kisan enrolments, pension schemes, scholarships, insurance programmes, skill training, and livelihood opportunities.

So far, over 125 District Magistrates and Deputy Commissioners have commenced mobilisation and awareness efforts in coordination with local communities. This ensures that no eligible tribal household is excluded and sets a new standard for convergence-based, inclusive governance. The Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan stands as a transformative model, honouring the legacy and rights of India’s tribal population while delivering development where it is most needed.
