Grand Continent Opens in Tamil Nadu

Grand Continent Hotels has opened the 50-key Grand Continent Premier-Vellore on New Bypass Road in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The property is the Bengaluru-based hotel company’s 32nd hotel and strengthens its presence in southern India.

The hotel is positioned to serve demand from healthcare, education, business and pilgrimage travel in and around Vellore. Christian Medical College and Vellore Institute of Technology attract patients, students and their families, while nearby Ranipet contributes to business travel demand, the company said.

The property is located near Katpadi Railway Station, Sripuram Golden Temple and Amirthi Zoological Park. Chennai Airport is the nearest major airport, providing access for visitors travelling to the city and surrounding destinations.

Facilities at the hotel include a multi-cuisine restaurant, a bar and event spaces. The offering is intended to support leisure and business guests, as well as visitors travelling to Vellore for medical, academic and religious purposes.

Grand Continent was founded by Ramesh Siva in 2011 and has more than 2,000 keys across more than 20 cities. The company also has an international presence in the US and Dubai. Siva said Vellore’s varied travel demand made it an important market and that the opening formed part of the company’s wider expansion in South India and other locations with sustained demand.

The opening adds to hotel supply in a city supported by established medical and educational institutions, industrial activity in the wider region and several visitor attractions. Grand Continent’s expansion also reflects the company’s strategy of growing its network across markets with a combination of corporate, institutional, pilgrimage and leisure demand.
