Greater Noida Starts Land Buy For Key Airport Roads
Officials said the Authority’s land department has initiated the process of purchasing land from farmers based on consent, with plans to set up camps to expedite acquisition. Construction of the two roads will be taken up in 2026 based on priority. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance connectivity within Greater Noida and adjoining regions as airport-related traffic builds up.
Greater Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Ravi Kumar NG said the land acquisition process has been fast-tracked to ensure timely execution. He added that the roads will not only improve intra-city movement but also strengthen links with the Yamuna City area and western Uttar Pradesh. Once completed, the corridors are expected to ease travel between Noida, Greater Noida and several neighbouring cities.
In the first phase, the 105-metre road originating from the Alpha-1 Commercial Belt will be connected to NH-91. While work on this stretch has already begun, progress had stalled in certain pockets, prompting the Authority to initiate land acquisition in those areas. In the second phase, the road is proposed to be extended up to Hapur district, improving connectivity across Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi, Gurugram and Hapur.
The projects will also strengthen access to the proposed multimodal transport hub and provide an additional route to the airport. A new road from Greater Noida West, currently built up to Sirsa and passing through the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, will be extended by about 12 km to the YEIDA area. This stretch will be developed by the Yamuna authority and is expected to serve as a key access corridor to the airport for commuters from Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida West, Ghaziabad and surrounding regions.
