HEI UAE Opens Finnish Early Learning Centre in Arabian Ranches

HEI UAE, an exclusive partnership between Ghobash Group and Helsinki International Schools, has launched a purpose-built flagship early learning centre in Arabian Ranches 1, Dubai. The launch marks the introduction of Finland's early childhood education model to the United Arab Emirates and follows a groundbreaking in November 2025. Construction has progressed since the groundbreaking and the project is presented as a key milestone for early years education in Dubai.

The 24,500 square foot centre is designed for children aged zero to six and combines learning, play and wellbeing spaces. It features dedicated zones for exploration, creativity and physical development alongside indoor and outdoor environments that encourage social interaction, movement and nature-based learning. The design emphasises a carefully curated mix of environments to support each child's overall development.

HEI UAE forms part of a global network of HEI Schools that serves more than 1,700 children across more than 25 centres worldwide and adapts Finland's research-backed curriculum. The approach emphasises purposeful play, child-led learning and the consistent involvement of highly trained educators, with a strong focus on holistic development spanning social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. Comprehensive teacher training will be delivered by HEI mentors from Finland to support implementation and educator development.

The general manager of HEI UAE said the project was advancing in Arabian Ranches and framed the centre as an environment where children develop naturally across academic, social and emotional domains supported by a model proven globally. The managing director of Ghobash Group characterised the initiative as a long-term investment in education that reflects the group's ambition to shape the sector and indicated potential for further expansion over time. Located within a well-established residential community, the centre aims to offer accessible, high-quality early learning aligned with international standards.
