Hettich Opens Indore Plant, Targets India as Manufacturing Hub
The new 25,700 sq. metre automated plant sits within Hettich's 103,039 sq. metre Indore complex and strengthens the company's long-standing commitment to the country. The site was described as reinforcing local capabilities and contributing to a wider Made in India portfolio certified to Bureau of Indian Standards norms. The investment is expected to attract component suppliers to the region. The addition is expected to support export growth from the region.
Hettich's existing hinge manufacturing unit at Indore has an annual production capacity of approximately 60 million (60 mn) hinges, and the new Quadro plant will further produce around five million (5 mn) undermount drawer runners each year. This expansion is intended to significantly strengthen the group's manufacturing capacity in India and to support domestic and international demand for premium furniture fittings. The Indore complex already manufactures a range of products including hinges, sliding profiles, aluminium profiles and Cube Plus systems.
Company leadership indicated that the investment and a continued focus on BIS-certified manufacturing reflected a broader Built to Lead commitment and a strategy to expand the Made in India portfolio. The firm also signalled that India is central to its long-term global strategy and will serve as a foundation for future expansion. The new plant therefore represents both a local employment initiative and a step towards integrating Indian production into global supply chains.
