Hilti India Leads Seismic Resilience Dialogue at 2025 Academy

Hilti India, through its flagship knowledge platform Seismic Academy, hosted the Annual Conference 2025 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, under the theme “Building Retrofits – Breathing Life into Existing Structures.” The event focused on strengthening India’s ageing infrastructure through retrofitting and enhancing nationwide earthquake resilience.

The conference brought together engineers, policymakers, academicians, and industry leaders to deliberate on codal frameworks, real-world retrofit case studies, and actionable strategies to advance seismic safety across the country. The sessions featured insights from leading experts including Dr. Shailesh Agrawal (BMTPC, MoHUA), Prof. Pradeep Kumar Ramancharla (CSIR-CBRI), and Prof. Vasant Matsagar (IIT Delhi), among others.

Jayant Kumar, Managing Director, Hilti India, said,

“Our goal through the Seismic Academy is to make seismic safety a national priority. Retrofitting must become central to our resilience strategy, ensuring existing structures are as safe as new builds. This initiative reflects Hilti India’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and life safety.”

Since its inception in 2019, the Seismic Academy has evolved into one of India’s leading platforms for earthquake engineering knowledge and capacity building. Its initiatives — spanning summits, workshops, technical journals, and collaborations — have engaged over 2,500 professionals from government, academia, and industry, driving the adoption of advanced seismic codes, retrofitting techniques, and disaster preparedness nationwide.

The 2025 edition reaffirmed the Academy’s pivotal role in uniting stakeholders toward a shared vision — a safer, stronger, and more resilient India.
