Himachal CM Inaugurates Projects In Fatehpur Constituency

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for eight development projects in the Fatehpur assembly constituency of Kangra district during a one-day visit. The projects were described as valued at Rs 1538.1 million (mn) in total and comprise transport, health and civic works across the constituency. The releases said the interventions aimed to improve connectivity and public services for local residents.

The chief minister performed the bhumi pujan for a Rs 1036.5 mn, 800-metre span bridge over the Beas River linking Terrace and Sthana, which is expected to benefit residents of Fatehpur and Jaswan-Pragpur constituencies. He inaugurated an Adarsh Swasthya Sansthan in Fatehpur valued at Rs 136 mn and opened works for parking and related facilities at the Fatehpur grain market costing Rs 31.4 mn. A road project from Fatehpur to Badiali via Kundial Theru Sunet under NABARD was laid as a foundation stone at Rs 90.9 mn.

The chief minister also inaugurated a combined office building in Fatehpur at Rs 128.2 mn and sanctioned the road from Kodi Bela to Paral via Jatt Beli under NABARD at Rs 52.7 mn. Further works included the Palakh to Charuri and Malhari to Duhag road package worth Rs 58.9 mn and ancillary upgrades to local infrastructure. Earlier in the day a commitment of Rs 100 mn was announced for constructing an industrial area in the constituency.

He said the office of the chief engineer of the Shah Canal project, which had been relocated to Mandi, will be re-established in Fatehpur to streamline project oversight. Financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each was declared for the area’s Mahila Mandals and five mn were allocated for renovation of Wazir Ram Singh Stadium. The chief minister complimented the local MLA for leaving a lucrative job to enter politics and underlined the government’s focus on development and public service during the visit.
