Hindustan Zinc HQ Retains LEED Platinum Certification

Hindustan Zinc has retained LEED Platinum certification for Yashad Bhawan, its corporate headquarters in Udaipur, for its sustainable building performance.
Spread across more than 85,000 sq ft, the facility achieved an overall score of 84/100 under the LEED v4.1 Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance rating system. Yashad Bhawan had first achieved LEED Platinum certification in 2016.
The recertification recognises the building’s performance across energy, water, indoor environmental quality, materials and resource management. Sustainable measures at the facility include energy-efficient systems, water conservation, indoor air-quality initiatives, green cleaning protocols, integrated pest management, sustainable procurement and waste-diversion practices.
Yashad Bhawan recorded 95.5 per cent in Indoor Environmental Quality and 100 per cent in Materials & Resources. It also achieved 86.7 per cent in Water Efficiency, 80 per cent in Energy & Atmosphere and 78.6 per cent in Location & Transportation.

The company is also expanding sustainability measures across its operations in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. Hindustan Zinc said it is currently 3.32 times Water Positive and follows Zero Liquid Discharge practices across its operations.
The share of clean power in its energy mix has reached 22 per cent, while the company is targeting 70 per cent renewable power by FY2028 as part of its pathway towards achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 or earlier.
Hindustan Zinc is also working on ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, electric mobility and cleaner logistics under its Sustainability Goals 2030.
