Hitachi Vantara, the data infrastructure and hybrid cloud subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd., has been recognised as a Leader and Fast Mover in the 2026 GigaOm Radar for Object Storage. The report highlights its Virtual Storage Platform One Object (VSP One Object) for strong scalability, efficient capacity utilisation, and advanced data reduction capabilities tailored for large enterprises.
The GigaOm Radar evaluates enterprise object storage platforms based on technical performance, innovation, and business impact. With organisations increasingly handling large volumes of unstructured data and adopting AI-driven workloads, scalable and resilient object storage has become central to modern data infrastructure strategies.
The report noted Hitachi Vantara’s strengths in AI-optimised data paths, flexible deployment models, and scalability from terabytes to exabytes. These capabilities support diverse workloads, including analytics, AI applications, and data resiliency requirements.
Industry experts also highlighted the company’s unified data platform approach, supported by continuous innovation and an evolving product roadmap aligned with market needs.
Object storage is increasingly moving beyond archival use to support high-performance applications such as data lakehouses, large-scale analytics, and AI training pipelines. Features like native S3 Tables enable structured data access within object storage, reducing the need for data movement while simplifying analytics workflows.
VSP One Object forms part of the broader VSP One platform, which integrates block, file, and object storage across on-premises and cloud environments. This unified architecture helps reduce data silos, improve visibility, and simplify operations while targeting 99.999 per cent availability for mission-critical environments.
