The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group, has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel on East Coast Road (ECR) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The upcoming greenfield development marks a key addition to IHCL’s growing portfolio in southern India.

Spread across 13 acres of pristine beachfront, the 151-key Taj ECR Chennai will offer panoramic views of the Bay of Bengal. The resort will feature an all-day dining restaurant, two speciality restaurants, and a bar. Guests can unwind at Taj’s signature J Wellness Circle, complemented by a gym, swimming pool, and recreation facilities.

Designed to cater to both leisure and business travellers, the property will also serve as a premier venue for large-scale events, with two spacious banquet halls of 10,000 sq ft and 5,300 sq ft, several meeting rooms, and expansive beachfront lawns.
