India’s Global CE Connect
India’s construction equipment industry is entering a phase where scale is increasingly being matched by productivity, technology, localisation and lifecycle economics. Against this backdrop, bauma ConExpo India 2026, scheduled for September 15-18 at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, will bring the global and Indian construction machinery ecosystem together.
The eighth edition is expected to be the largest yet, with the exhibition sold out across around 1.45 million sq ft. More than 1,100 exhibitors from over 100 countries are expected to participate, with visitor numbers projected to exceed 75,000.
The exhibition will cover the construction and infrastructure equipment value chain, including construction vehicles, earthmoving, road construction and maintenance machinery, lifting and conveying equipment, concrete and mortar technologies, formwork and scaffolding. Mining, raw-material processing, building-material production, components and services will also feature prominently.
Technology takes centre stage
As equipment buyers increasingly evaluate machines on productivity, uptime, operating costs and total lifecycle value, technology will be a key focus of the 2026 edition. Digitalisation, connected equipment, automation, electrification, alternative fuels and sustainability are among the major themes.
Connected machines are enabling fleet monitoring, utilisation tracking, predictive maintenance, diagnostics and asset management, while digital tools are increasingly being deployed for operator training and service support. VR and simulator-based experiences will further highlight the role of technology in training and equipment operations.
The exhibition is also expected to strengthen India’s position as a construction equipment market, manufacturing base and sourcing hub. International participation, including pavilions from Germany, China, Taiwan and Italy, will create opportunities for technology partnerships, component sourcing, localisation and manufacturing collaborations.
For Indian OEMs and component manufacturers, the event offers access to global suppliers and potential customers, while international companies can engage with India’s growing construction market and supplier ecosystem.
The Buyer-Seller Forum will further facilitate business connections between EPC companies, contractors, rental companies, manufacturers and suppliers through focused discussions and one-to-one meetings.
With its expanded scale and international participation, bauma ConExpo India 2026 is positioned as more than a machinery exhibition. It is emerging as a platform for technology, sourcing, partnerships and business development, reflecting the construction equipment industry’s move towards a more connected, productive and globally integrated future.
“India is moving beyond a growth market.”
Intro: Bhupinder Singh, President – IMEA, Messe München and CEO, Messe Muenchen India
bauma ConExpo 2026 is expected to be the largest edition yet. What does the scale and profile of exhibitor participation tell you about confidence in India’s construction equipment and infrastructure market?
India is at an inflection point. The response to bauma ConExpo India 2026 reflects not only the scale of the exhibition, but the confidence of an industry that believes strongly in India’s growth story. Companies are arriving with sharper commercial intent around customer access, localisation, sourcing, distribution and long-term technology partnerships. The exhibition is sold out, spanning 1.45 million sq ft, with 1,100+ exhibitors from 100+ countries and more than 75,000 visitors expected.
How has the industry's shift from volume-led growth influenced the exhibition?
The trade fair has been designed around how equipment decisions are being made today. Customers are looking beyond capacity and specifications to output, availability, operating costs, service support and lifecycle performance. Productivity, digitalisation, sustainability, localisation and service readiness are therefore at the centre of the 2026 edition, alongside specialist platforms, knowledge sessions and buyer-seller engagements.
What technology trends will dominate bauma ConExpo 2026?
The technologies gaining traction will be those demonstrating a clear operating and economic case. Electrification and alternative fuels will be important, but adoption will depend on application, duty cycle, infrastructure and operating economics. Connected machines and automation are gaining relevance for fleet visibility, utilisation, maintenance planning and safety, while digitalisation is extending into diagnostics, servicing, training and asset management.
How is bauma ConExpo connecting Indian companies with international markets?
India is increasingly both a major customer market and a manufacturing and sourcing base. International pavilions from Germany, China, Taiwan and Italy provide access to technology providers, suppliers and potential partners, while Indian OEMs and component manufacturers gain exposure to global networks. These interactions can support technology collaboration, localisation, component sourcing, manufacturing partnerships and overseas market access.
What should bauma ConExpo India achieve over the next three to five years?
The ambition is to accelerate commercially viable technologies, strengthen localisation, improve skills and safety, and connect Indian manufacturers more deeply with global value chains. Sustainability must focus on solutions that work in real operating conditions and make economic sense. If the platform helps businesses make better technology choices, build stronger partnerships and improve global competitiveness, that will be a meaningful measure of its impact.
